I’m going to circle back to that krazy kalvacade of Kustoms that rolled through Kansas a couple of weeks ago. Yep, I’m gonna be taking a “kloser” look at the KKOA Leadsled Spectacular. There were so many outstanding rides, all worth a second look but for mine peepers there were some that really stood out and I’ll be bringing them to you throughout the next few months. My first “kloser” look is at an insane Custom ’62 Thunderbird, talk about back in the day. This thing is straight out of time machine and I loved every inch of it. Lucky for yours truly, this beauty was up for auction so I was able to get quite a few dets on her. It’s got a 390/4 barrel power plant with a cruise-o-matic trans, as well as a modified suspension. Can you say Kustom. Kustom: grille, front turn signals, hood scoops, rear wheel openings, dropped headlamps, shaved door handles, tilt away steering wheel, chrome exhaust dumps and the antenna and license plate opening have been frenched. This is a Kustom with a ton of vehicular DNA: ’77 Lincoln sunroof, ’78 T-Bird porthole windows. ’65 T-Bird fender bullets, ’59 Cadillac tail lamps. Top it off with a righteous retro paint scheme in buttermilk and red metal flake and there you have it – One Kool kustomer. Don’t know if she sold at auction, if I had the pennies in my pocket I sure would have raised my paddle for this one. Now take a lok for yourself at this ‘too kool ’62.
Here you go, an even kloser look at this baby…..
Till the next time – Keep on Kruzin!
