Goodguys Southwest Nationals Scorched Scottsdale

Goodguys closed out the year with something for all of us to be thankful for, the 23rd Southwest Nationals. The show was exactly what you would expect from a Goodguys event, but this year it seemed that much sweeter. The rides were sublime, the vendors were out in force and (don’t hate me) the weather was absolutely perfect. The weekend was a grand slam hot rodding homer. In a year that has left us with precious little to be happy about, the Southwest Nationals weekend was the perfect antidote to the 2020 blues.

The show went off without a hitch thanks to the diligent work of all the folks at Goodguys and the very cooperative municipality of Scottsdale, Arizona. I can’t even imagine the Herculean task it was to pull off this weekend. Thanks to all of their hard work it was an incredible and very safe event. Everyone seemed happy to comply with the safety measures. For those lucky enough to grab a ticket, it was a welcomed break and a well needed dose of normal in the form of cars, chrome and heaps of horsepower.

The Goodguys Southwest Nationals offered every flavor for the Hot Rodders palate:  There were Convertibles, Classics and Cruisers

Tons of trick trucks

Radical Roadsters and Wild Wagons

And everything else in between

There was almost too much to take in but we soldiered through just for you. It was worth it don’t you think?

As I said in July, yes Hot Rodders, there is a Santa Clause. He lives in Pleasanton, CA and moonlights at Goodguys Rod & Custom. He brought Christmas in July to Des Moines Iowa and to Scottsdale in November. And with his visit he brought a well need dose of  Hot Rodding happiness to the weary masses. Many thanks! Now our gift to you is our Event Coverage Gallery. We have hundreds upon hundreds of pics of the outstanding rides that were out for the Southwest Nationals.

Don’t know what to do with yourself over a long Holiday week? Take some well deserved “Me Time” and enjoy a visual vacay in the Pony Girl Show Stopper Gallery. Just spend some a little time scrolling on through.

The Southwest Nationals was a weekend long reminder that there are much better days to come and that this too shall pass. Be sure and hit up the Goodguys site to stay up to date for their 2021 schedule. Rest now, I foresee a very busy year.
