Wild Weekend

Three states ((i got a bit lost), two shows, one weekend.  Can you say a good time.  I logged 1,012 miles in just under 36 hours to make it to 2 fantastic shows.  One new and one a righteous return visit.  I hit the road, I hit it hard and it was well worth it.

My first stop was Onawa, Iowa and a new show to me, Graffiti Night put on by the Classics Car Club. To get straight and to the point, it was great people, with great cars out for a great night.  Michael's was the hot spot in town last Saturday with every inch of available real estate jam packed with fab rides and the folks there to check them out.  To me, Graffiti Night was quintessential Americana and it was just fantastic.  There in middle of beautiful farm land, was this real deal drive -inn (great food by the way) hosting a true blast from the past.  People out to show their cars and come together as a community for a good time.  I just can't say enough about this show, it was just good clean American fun.  Move over apple pie I'd argue it should be "as American as Graffiti Night!"  Take a look and I think you'll agree, the variety and quality could rival that of a National show.

What really stood out at this event was when the entire show lined up and with a Police escort paraded into downtown Onawa to cruise the "Widest Main Street" in the U.S.  I've never seen anything like it and friends, it was way cool.  After they paraded in, they took up all four lanes for a group shot, a group shot can you believe it?  I can saw first hand why Onawa was named one of the top 10 places in the Nation to "cruise".  The organization that feat took was impressive.  Let me tell you the Onawa P.D. could show Chicago's finest a thing or two about traffic control!  Take a look at the "cruise".

It was a great time and well worth the drive, I can see why this one has been going on for 30 years!

Up next coverage from Gears & Ears number 37, Mother Nature tried her best but the show went on and it was awesome.  Come back to check it out.

Til the next time - Keep on Kruzin!
