Vintage Torque Fest 2016
What's the perfect way to end a bit of a car show dry spell? Why a fest of course; Vintage Torque Fest that is and let me tell you it was a fest/feast for the gearhead soul. Dubbed the "Best Traditional Hot Rod, Custom and Vintage Cycle Show in Iowa" this show had it all and then some. Vendors of just about everything "Kustom Kulture" were dispensing their wares. You needed parts, oh they had a swap meet like no other. Live bands the entire weekend, they had 'em. Fantastic art oh yah. An indoor theater running righteous flicks, you know it. Wouldn't be a vintage festival without pin-up girls, it was a great show. I just wish I knew someone in the market for some barbering because the cat that was giving cuts knew his stuff. A car show with a barber on site - how cool is that! Gee, I almost forgot about the stars of the show - the rides. They were there, they were fantastic and they were from all over. I saw plates from 12 different states, not too shabby if I do say so myself.
The folks that organize Vintage Torque Fest like to call it a "participatory show" and I was hard pressed to find a single person just hanging out at their car. The fans of the Vintage Torque Fest are a hardy bunch. Rain, shine or threat of snow this gang is there in force and let me tell you this year they paid no never mind to old Mother Nature who tried like heck to put the kabosh on this Fest with soaking rains and crazy winds. They were there and enjoying the heck out of everything that VTF had to offer, in other words par-ti-ci-pating! Enough of my jibber-jabber take a gander for yourself at this "Festival of Vintage Torque".

If this show wet your whistle for some more good old fashioned old skool fun, check out the sister show Iron Inavsion hosted by the same Kats that put on the VTF (Vintage Torque Fest that is!). The Invasion is Koolsville friends and a slam dunk way to round your show season.
There is so much to come, stay tuned.
Til the next time - Keep on Kruzin!
