Speedway Nats Saturday
There's a group here of nearly 90 cars that were driven to Indy all the way from the West Coast. The group is called the Rod Fathers and it's ring leader is none other than the original Rod Father himself, Andy Brizio, the renowned West Coast builder who's been making these cross country pilgrimages off & on since 1970 (usually in an open roadster I might add).
Well, it seems that this year one of the Rod Father members ran into trouble 2 days out and blew his engine. And like a lot of hot rodders in this tough economy didn't have the money to buy a new one. Not to worry. A bunch of the group that he was traveling with all pitched in and raised enough money to buy him a new crate engine. Not only that, they found a local shop to install it. End result this t-bucket driver is here at Indy right along with the rest of the Rod Father posse, thanks to their selfless generosity! Who says hot rodders don't look out for one another!
The Rod Fathers and the other 2,000 some odd rides that packed the Indianapolis Motor Speedway sure put on an impressive show today, it was a feast for the eyes. Enjoy.
Have a look and a listen to more doings from the Speedway Nationals. The feast for your ears is the live performance from the Crown Vics, the perfect band for this event.
There are now over 700 pictures in the Most Recent Gallery from the Speedway Nats. I encourage you to check it out, they're great - if I do say so myself.
Stay tuned there is so so much more to come from this awesome show.
Til the next time - Keep on Kruzin!
