Polar Bear Cruise
I've been through thunderstorms, hail, extreme heat, chilly mornings and a tornado warning or two, but I've never ever been to an event in the SNOW! How about it. It was 17', not including the wind chill, it was blowing snow and it was the Annual Polar Bear Cruise. This crazy group of Kats and Kittens belongs to or are friends with a bunch called the Bare Bones Car Club; they've put this cruise on for about 8 years now on Super Bowl Sunday and come, snow or shine they are gathering bright and early to enjoy a day of wintertime cruising. Never before have 40 cars been more exciting! I've seen shows break up because rain might be a couple hours away; the Polar Bear Cruise takes devotional gearheadedness to a whole new level! Like their flyer says, "Rain, sleet, snow or shine. We are more dependable that the U.S. Mail" and I've gotta give it to them, what a bunch of die hards. I have modern technology in my ride not to mention heated seats and I was ready to go home after about an hour, I don't know how the guy with the roofless truck made it or for that matter, the dude with the folding chair aka drivers seat. I did say die hards - right.
No trailer queens here friends, just a great bunch of hard core hot rodders that were out for the pure fun of it all, oh and plus they got really cool patches for busting their rides out of hibernation!
I'd say they had a great turnout considering it was February in the Midwest in the snow!
Like the Small wonders Museum, I've got many more pics to post and am waiting (semi-patiently now!) for the glitch to be resolved so I can post the 2 new galleries. Stay tuned.
Til the next time - Keep on Kruzin!
