Morris Fall Classic
Morris Fall Classic, now this is my kind of show: a little bit of everything and something for everyone! It was the U.N. for car shows. All were welcome and most showed. For me it was a great opportunity to see rides I don't run across all the time. Variety is the spice right. It was Volvos and VW's, Camaros and Corvairs, Trucks and T- Buckets and everything in between. Just one big happy family, for the day at least. I thought it was a real bang up way to wind down the local car show season.
Another thing that's cool about Morris is the way they show the cars. They separate them by classes, 42 in total. So if you were in the mood for Mustangs, for example, you'd head down one of the "Mustang Stock" aisles ( there were 3) and were able to check out 100 or so pretty ponies all in a row. Same went for Corvettes, Customs, Trucks, you get the picture. It was row after row of rad rides and this year was exceptionally high in attendance; they were filling the overflow lot at 9am. It was great. As if that weren't enough, the swap meet was another show unto itself, there was fab food and tons of door prizes. And a 50/50 raffle and the coup de grace, a chance to win a sweet '63 Impala. I really wanted to drive that thing home but darn it, it wasn't in the cards for me. There's always next year and the money goes to a great cause. The projects, donations and events the Morris Lions Club contributes to are too numerous to list. However, it's crystal clear they take their motto "WE SERVE" very seriously. Morris is lucky to have such a dedicated organization serving them and everyone else is lucky they put on such an amazing show. Now take a gander and you'll see what I mean.
All total there were nearly 1,200 rides and don't you dig the variety. A gathering for the love of ALL things automotive. That's my kind of scene.
Til the next time - Keep on Kruzin!
