Jason Graham's 1940 Mercury "Sexy Blonde"
As you all know I am a lover of all, hater of none and I rarely pick favorites. However..... those tiny gears that crank in my melon were b - l- o- w- n away one Friday afternoon down Des Moines way when I laid my eyes on one "Sexy Blonde". This beauty is the latest out of the Jason Graham Hot Rods stable. Lawdy, Lawdy, Lawdy Miss Clawdy this ride stopped me dead in my tracks and had me coming back for more, and more and more. This 1940 Merc aka "Sexy Blonde" was a real show stopper and I enjoyed the heck out of it at the back to back GoodGuys shows.
Jason was flexing his muscles as a supreme builder extrordinare with a major in"fixing" when it came to this ride. He took a rust free but badly chopped 1940 Merc and transformed it into the incredible ride you see below. Hundreds of hours and gallons of elbow grease later, the roof has been redone to excellence and the custom skirts are smooth as silk. Twin Stromberg 97's on top of a 1950 Merc Flathead 8BA and this platinum princess just purrs. Add to that '39 Ford headlights and '59 Caddy taillights and this flaxen beauty really takes shape. What shoes would suit such a stunner? 15 inch chrome artillery wheels for freeway flights. By the by, I have to send a big thank you to HotRod.com for the deets on this baby. You must forgive me, I was too dumb struck to get the skinny on this beauty when I saw her in person. The last thing that I'll gush over is her coat of many colors. That platinum, must be custom hue that shifts, fades and blends to many shades that one would find on say a "Sexy Blonde". Enough already, I'm beginning to embarrass myself. Now take a look for yourself at one fine, fine '40 Merc.
Enjoy a quick video of this beauty.
There is still so much more to come. A "Riot" is on the horizon and one of the Koolest Kats out there is opening the doors to the house that Kustom built. Stay tuned.
Til the next time - Keep on Kruzin!
