Iron Invasion 2016
The Iron Invasion rolled into town and it was Traditional Hot Rodding nirvana! Let me tell you friends this show has legs and they be running. Not quite sure what it is about the first Saturday in October but old Mother Nature seems to consistently start to wake her wintery ways during the Iron Invasion. Luckily this year it was only soaking rain. For some shows that brand of bad weather might prove a disastrous but not for the Invasion. Nope the place was packed, and I am not saying that lightly, packed with participants and spectators alike. Devotees of this show are a hardy bunch. Move over postmen, neither snow nor rain nor gloom of night stays these fans from the Iron Invasion and with good reason. The Iron Invasion is really a great show. They've got it all: special indoor "invited" rides, pin up girls galore and yes, there was Mr. Invader too. A crazy swap meet organized by the Tin Butchers, vendors of all things Kool (picked myself up a Christmas gift or two thank you very much) and the music is the tops. I have "discovered" several of my new favorite bands at this show. Last but not least the cars, ooooh the cars. Traditional pre - 1965 hot rods and customs need I say more? Just cast an eyeball below and you'll get the drift. Enjoy.
Scoot on over to the Most Recent Show Gallery to check out the rest of this hot rod hootenanny! And do yourself a favor and mark you calendar for the first Saturday of October. It's an invasion of iron you don't want to miss. Just make sure you pack your rain coat and favorite sweater.
Hang on folks, we have so much more to come. There's more high flying action from the wheel stand competition as well as a GoodGuys show on deck. We're heading to historic Beech Bend Raceway Park for the 5th Nostalgia Nationals; classics, hot rods, customs and vintage drag racing. Sounds pretty fantastic to me.
Til the next time - Keep in Kruzin!
