Iron Invasion year 2 - bigger and better. The word sure spread about this show and I couldn't believe how big it was. There were tons of great rides and this year there was a huge motorcycle presence. And of course there was fab live music and a one of a kind pin up contest, with a separate Mr. Invasion portion. I wasn't sure what to expect with that one but it was actually really funny.
Not even a hefty shower could quell the Invasion. I've never seen a car show where rain did not cause a mass exodus. It was a good thing there were 5 indoor buildings to take shelter in. I might add the buildings were filled with awesome vendors, car and motorcycle displays. So, it really wasn't too much of a hardship to hang out. and wait out the rain.
It seems like the "child" of the famed Hunnert Car Pile Up has got some legs and I think we will be seeing many more Invasions in the years to come. Cast an eyeball for yourself and you'll see what I mean.
There is always something cool and unexpected at these shows. Here's one of my favorites from this year's Iron Invasion - a flame throwing mini bike. If this kid is the future of hot rodding, I'm excited!
Check out the Most Recent Show Gallery for more from the Iron Invasion. I also have a guest blogger new to the car show scene that's going to give you her impressions of the Iron Invasion so stay tuned.
