Hunnert Car Heads Up - 2013

Hot Dog it was the Hunnert Car Heads Up and once again the Chrome Czars hit it out of the park.  It was a full day of heads up nostalgia drag racing at it's finest.  Each year this event gets better and better.  An added bonus for this year was there was not a single raindrop in sight, hooray for Mother Nature.  Finally a perfect day at the track.

The Chrome Czars keep upping the ante with the Heads Up.  This year they paired with Gasser Magazine and held the Hunnert Car Heads Up in conjunction with the Gasser Magazine Gasser Nationals North.  Honestly, Great Lakes Dragaway was virtually a port hole to 1965 with first class match ups that kept the track humming with righteous racing all day.

Enough talking about it; have a look instead.

Here are just of a few more memorable moments form the "Heads Up".

I know you recognize that green skyward launching '56 Chevy from the video.  It was none other than the Wheelstanding Cop, Mike Bilina who I blogged about a couple of months back.  Not only did I get to watch several spectacular passes, I got to meet the man behind the show and let me tell you what a treat.  He was as nice as can be and after the Meltdown Drags keep your eye out for a follow up.  By the by the Meltdown Drags, the sister race to the Hunnert Car Heads Up is on July 20 & 21st so mark you calendars friends.

As if all this could be topped, this Heads Up was hands down the best one for me because I got to spend the day at the track with my Dad.  It was so great to watch the races with him and just hang out.  The  Bristol 45 Diner wasn't too bad either.  Thanks for being my biggest fan Dad and I hope you know I'm yours.

Can't wait until the 2014 Heads Up but luckily the Meltdown Drags are only a month or so away!

Til the next time - Keep on Kruzin!
