Hot Rod Hangover!
Hello friends, I'm finally over what I can only call a Hot Rod Hangover. I apologize for the delay but oh my lordy lordy. I'd become pleasantly used to my lungs filled with the intoxicating blend of funnel cake and exhaust, my eyes thrilled with seemlingly endless miles of rods, and my ears delighting to the varying tunes from the autocross. Two weeks, 10,000 cars and 1,760 miles to and from and then.... nothing. I can only describe the cold harsh reality that's post GoodGuys back to back weekends as a hangover albeit sweet, with hot rod written all over it . Thank goodness my neighbor drives a '32 roadster everyday so I don't have to go cold turkey.
I've recovered sufficiently to bring you more from the show of all shows, the PPG Nats. I've said this a million times but you just never know what you are going to see. Case in point, I sat down on a curb to grab a bite and this part of the parade came right to me. Sh'Boom Gone Wild has tamed down to just Sh'Boom and proving with this '48 Caddy that less is more.
It is nearly impossible to pick out just a few shots to represent this awesome show. Here's my whack at it. No worries though, I'm continuously adding pictures to the Most Recent show gallery from the 15th PPG Nats. and soon you'll be able to peruse through the nearly 2,000 pictures I took. Ya, I said 2,000!
Here's some upclose and personal footage of a few of my favs in the winners circle. A drop dead '37 Ford Sedan Deliver; a chopped, narrowed, shortened and just totally modded '50 Studebaker that I'd trade just about anything for and the '64 Grand Prix speaks for itself.
Last but not least here is some of the action from the final races at the AutoCross on Sunday.
There is so much still to cover from these great shows in addition to a couple of local events I have on my calendar and I'll be heading to historic Byron Dragway this weekend for the Meltdown Drags. Stay tuned - lots of awesome action to come.
Til the next time - Keep on Kruzin!
