"GPT" Great 8 Ride from Johnson's Hot Rod Shop

Up next on the Great 8 recap, the Johnson’s Hot Rod Shop built ’32 Ford Tudor "GPT".  This beauty is the latest addition to the colossal stable of award winning hot rods belonging to George Poteet. That man knows a thing or two about the Detroit Autorama, he drove home with the Ridler back in '97 with his '37 Ford Roadster.  But back to the exquisitely custom "GPT" '32 deuce sedan, his next greatest ride.  "Less is more" is the general theme for this amazing 1932 Ford Tudor build.  It is a work of stunning craftsmanship.  The sleek design called for a lot of significant changes to the Ford which Alan Johnson and his crew at Johnson's Hot Rods executed flawlessly.  Great strides were made to ensure the proportions were in line.  The panels of the sedan were chopped and proportioned.  The quarter windows were shortened, the leading edge of the cowl was moved back, and the cowl itself was moved down.  The interior with wood plank floors and leather wrapped panels maintain the subtle continuity of the extremely refined "less is more" aesthetic.  There's a Ford in this Ford.  "GPT" is powered by a 312 Ford Y block V8 built around a hidden Hillborne injection unit system.  The Tudor rides on a JHRS chassis and with gold anodized Halibrand wheels to finish off the look.  Each of the countless details seamlessly tie together to create one spectacular ’32.

Don't take my word for it, see for yourself this liquid black beauty is one flawless ride.

Great 8 keep coming.  Up next, the second of the 3 Pickups on the Great 8.  Plus, World of Wheels is making a stop in my neck of the woods and I'll be there with bells on!

Till the next time - Keep on Kruzin!
