Custom Car Revival 2017
Lawdy, Lawdy, Lawdy Miss Maudie, Custom Car Revival blew it out of the park like an intergalactic home run! It was 100% Traditional Custom and it was 200% Awesome. The unassuming parking lot at Edwards Drive-In turned into the epicenter of Traditional Customs this past Saturday and dang was it a great show. About all I can say is, when was the last time you spent nearly 5 hours at a show where there were just about 200 cars. Ya, the cars were that awesome, ya it was THAT good.
This show is all for the "love of Traditional Customs" and boy they were feeling the love at Edwards Drive - In Saturday at the 5th Annual running of this Revival. The one of a kind beauties came in form coast to coast and these rides were representing. That means there were tags from about 30 or so states. Not too shabby for 200 rides. Pretty strict rules at the revival, no: Street Rods, Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, Rat Rods, or Rat Rod Customs. And no means no friends. Want some more no's? There was no convention and nothing commonplace with these Customs. Frenched, chopped, channeled and sectioned were the mods du jour. White walls ruled, grilles so in your face they were almost taunting you and oh that paint, candy colors as far as the eye could see. However, paint or primer, if it was a Traditional Custom you were in. At the CCR Traditional Custom yes everything else sorry Charlie.
This show was born out of an idea two friends, Kevin Anderson and Bob Davis, had few years ago. They were longing for the “good ole days”, when custom cars were all the rage. They thought maybe, just maybe, they could recreate (ahem, revive) the old fashioned outdoor style car show. Those parking lot/dealer car lot shows that the 50's were all about. Include a few like-minded folks and who knows what would happen. Well five years later, we know what happens. A totally unique, one of a kind show that people come from all across the country to enjoy happens, that's what.
I'm afraid more words won't do these Customs justice so you are just going to have to take a look-see for yourself. About all I can say is - Enjoy! This show was ALL that and a bag of chip!
Do yourself a favor and wander through the Most Recent Show Gallery for the Custom Car Revival. I'm telling you, there ain't nothing like it out there and you're not gonna wanna miss a single pic from this show!
Oh ya, the summer is starting to heat up and if CCR is any indication of the kind of summer we're gonna have, it's gonna be a doozy! Stay tuned.
Till the next time - Keep on Kruzin!
