Blacktop Barons Roadblock 2013
The Blacktop Barons Roadblock 2013 was all aces! This is by far one of my favorite shows. Each year there is a different crop of rides, and awesome rides at that. The vibe is so friendly and welcoming you just can't help but have a good time. The peeps are just sooo dang nice. I can't tell you how many fine folks I've met at the Barons bash whom I now consider friends, and there's not many shows that I can say that about. What I think is supremely unique about this show is the one of a kind venue, Lyon Farm in Yorkville was made to host this show. From a photographic point of view, there just isn't a bad shot here. The place really sets a throw back tone for the show which I just love, it's so cool to feel immersed in an event. The rides and this venue, it's like living art.
Take a gander below and I think you'll agree.
It was Roadblock revelry at it's finest, a bit of groovy gridlock and I just can't believe it's going to be the last. Yes friends, it is with heavy digits that I type the 8th Annual Blacktop Barons Roadblock was the last blowout for the Barons. I had to reread the website multiple times before I let it sink in that one of my favs will be no longer. Sorely bummed is putting it mildly and I hoping the Blacktop Barons just need a bit of a breather and will be resurrecting this boss "block" soon, like next year!
Now, here's a little live action from the Roadblock, see for yourself why I dig this event so much.
Get the full experience from the Roadblock and check out the about 200 or so, pictures in the Most Recent Show Gallery. This is one Roadblock you won't mind at all. And to all you Blacktop Barons out there, take a couple of months and possibly reconsider, the "Open Road" might not be as good as a great Roadblock. This is one gal that would LOVE to see the 9th Roadblock and more!
The Hunnert Car Heads Up is on deck for this weekend, we all know that one is tops! Check out the deets at hunertcarheadsup.com
