And The Winners Are......
Don't worry friends, this is gonna be straight and to the point. Two top prizes were just awarded at the 19th GoodGuys PPG Nationals in Columbus this weekend. Street Machine of the Year and Street Rod of the Year. What can I really say about this. There were a few dozen outstanding rides, each better than the last, vying for the two top prizes. I didn't envy the judges their task this weekend. So without further ado, the winners are.....
Street Machine of the Year went to this beautiful 1969 Mustang out of Goolsby Customs. Take a look and it's easy to see why this Mustang drove off with the top prize this year.
This Mustang doesn't just look mean, it is mean. It tore up the AutoCross track during the qualification runs. There was no taking it easy on this pristine show car. Here is a rough video of Jonathan Goolsby taking the Mustang through it's paces on the AutoCross track. I love the end, it caught me a little off guard that's why it's a little "rough".
The second top prize of the weekend, the Street Rod of the Year went the 1939 Oldsmobile "Olds Cool". This ride is no stranger to the winners circle, The Riddler award is also on the mantle for this model 60 Convertible. Not a bad show season for this one of a kind ride.
Here is a quick and crowded walk around video of this prize winner.
As you can see below, the field of runners up was mighty impressive. Also, there was the added attraction of the unveiling of the 2017 GoodGuys give away car.
Stay tuned, I'll be bringing you more, so much more of my coverage from the 19th GoodGuys PPG Nationals. By the by, in my own personal tally I choose 8 of the 10 rides the judges chose. Not too shabby if I do say so myself.
Til the next time - Keep on Kruzin!
